Why Our Approach Works Better

We focus on practical skills that translate directly to workplace success. Here's what makes our financial modeling training different from traditional academic approaches.

1

Real Industry Data

Work with actual company financials and market data rather than simplified textbook examples. You'll encounter the messy realities of real-world modeling from day one.

2

Error-Prone Scenarios

Learn to identify and fix common modeling mistakes before they become costly problems. We teach defensive modeling techniques that prevent errors from cascading through your work.

3

Version Control Methods

Master the art of model documentation and version management. Understanding how to maintain and update complex models is crucial for long-term success in finance roles.

4

Stakeholder Communication

Develop skills in presenting model results to different audiences. Technical accuracy means nothing if you can't explain your assumptions and conclusions clearly.

Your Learning Journey

3

Foundation Building (Months 1-3)

Start with Excel fundamentals and basic financial concepts. You'll build your first simple models while learning proper spreadsheet design principles and common shortcuts that save hours of work.

6

Intermediate Techniques (Months 4-6)

Dive into DCF models, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning. This is where many students have their breakthrough moment as complex concepts start clicking into place.

9

Advanced Applications (Months 7-9)

Tackle merger models, LBO analysis, and credit risk assessment. You'll work on cases that mirror what analysts face in investment banking and corporate finance roles.

12

Portfolio Project (Months 10-12)

Complete a comprehensive modeling project that demonstrates your skills. Many students use this work as a talking point in interviews and as proof of their capabilities to potential employers.

Common Questions About Our Programs

These are the questions we hear most often from prospective students. If you need more specific information, don't hesitate to reach out directly.

What software do we focus on?
We primarily use Excel because it remains the backbone of financial modeling in most organisations. However, we also cover Power BI for data visualization and introduce Python for more advanced analytics work. The goal is practical fluency, not software evangelism.
How much time commitment is required?
Most students spend 8-12 hours per week on coursework and practice exercises. This includes watching instructional content, working through problem sets, and building models. The schedule is designed to fit around full-time work commitments.
What background knowledge do I need?
Basic familiarity with Excel and fundamental accounting concepts will help, but we don't assume advanced knowledge. Many successful students come from non-finance backgrounds and pick up the necessary concepts as they progress through the material.
When do the next cohorts begin?
We start new cohorts in September 2025 and January 2026. Applications typically open three months before each start date. We keep cohort sizes manageable to ensure everyone gets adequate attention and feedback on their work.
